Is Lisbon a good place to live?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm single, late 40s, and Crime rate is something to consider -Lisbon sits at 98.2 per 100K. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. What would you do? Thanks for reading.

Public transit is better than expected here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.

I've lived in Oak Park for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Four distinct seasons
- The pet-friendliness scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Limited high-paying job options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. Feel free to reach out with questions..
