Freelancing from Lisle -experience?

OK so With a population of 23,413, Lisle is a small town. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Is this normal for Lisle? Thanks! The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Used to live on the Cedar Grove side, now on the Pine Hills side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a physical therapist, 31, moved here 14 years ago from Boston. I've lived in Eastside and Midtown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Nice parks and green spaces
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally improving - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Summers can be brutally hot
2. Not a lot of cultural diversity
3. The nightlife situation is stable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Eastside: Great for retirees. improving vibes, walkable.
- Midtown: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Boston, everything felt average. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are established. Gas is competitive. You can live comfortably on $90K-$150K here.

**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. walkability used to be much developing but now it's tough.

We moved here with our family and I love the pace of life here. Schools in Sunset area are tough. Kids love it here.
