Is Lisle good for remote workers?

I grew up here but left for a while. Crime rate is something to consider -Lisle sits at 38.3 per 100K. It's a a small town city with about 23,413 people. Rent is about $1,540/month for a decent place. Median household income is $106,173, which feels pretty solid for the area. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks in advance!

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Phoenix about 8 years ago. The main reasons were family and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good healthcare facilities
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Homeless population growing downtown
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are competitive, gas is pretty good.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Westside. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in retail. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like sushi.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
