Moved here from Portland about 2 years ago. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Still getting used to traffic but Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've lived in Eastside for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Affordable housing options
- The food scene scene is average

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. Hope this helps!.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Boston about 6 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Active local events and festivals
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are established, gas is solid.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

We moved here with our family and I genuinely enjoy living here. Schools in Lakewood area are excellent. Kids love it here.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cultural scene, then yeah this place is great. But if safety matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Bought a house here in 2015 and it's exactly what I was looking for. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Riverside for 12 years. Moved from Tampa for family. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is improving. We bought in 2020 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
real estate is strong here. engineering is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are developing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I genuinely enjoy living here. The outdoor scene is improving - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Riverside schools are decent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited shopping options. Homeless population growing downtown. And nightlife can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 7/10. Good luck with whatever you decide.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I have mixed feelings honestly.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Uptown. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in finance. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
