Rent vs buy in Litchfield Beach -what makes sense?
Hey everyone, I'm a teacher here and Rent is about $1,623/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $409,100, which is pretty steep. You can expect to pay around $1,623 for rent here. With a population of 9,544, Litchfield Beach is a small town. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Thanks in advance! Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

My experience has been mostly positive. I love the pace of life here. The only thing I'd watch out for is food scene. Other than that, Good luck with whatever you decide..

Public transit is improving here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it was the best decision I ever made.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Pine Hills. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in marketing. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like BBQ.
No regrets on my end..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Lakewood. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in marketing. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Mexican.
Definitely worth checking out..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a nurse who relocated here from Seattle about 3 years ago. The main reasons were school and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Lots of new development happening
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited high-paying job options
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are established, gas is improving.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
