Worst things about Litchfield Park nobody talks about
Been meaning to ask this. I'm single, late 40s, and With a population of 6,871, Litchfield Park is a small town. Crime rate is something to consider -Litchfield Park sits at 168.1 per 100K. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Looking forward to hearing from you all. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Used to live on the Westside side, now on the The Heights side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

I'm a writer and I've found it exceeded my expectations. The community is average and there's always something going on.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Midtown. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in retail. If you're in real estate you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Indian.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Springfield. It's improving for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.
No regrets on my end..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are decent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've lived in The Heights for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The outdoor recreation scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Homeless population growing downtown
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
