Rent in Lithia Springs getting crazy

I'm retired and Average temperature is around 60--F, so the weather is moderate. The median home value here is around $199,500, which is actually reasonable. Rent is about $1,353/month for a decent place. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Cedar Grove. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in construction. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
