Top 5 things I love about Little Elm

Curious what people think. Average temperature is around 65--F, so the weather is moderate. With a population of 51,426, Little Elm is a smaller city. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are challenging, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 12 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's exactly what I was looking for. Compared to Raleigh it's better than expected.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value community vibe, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely tough and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (North) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Nashville, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cultural scene, then yeah this place is great. But if food scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

If you value safety, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely tough and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Nashville, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

As someone who grew up here, it's improved dramatically in recent years. A lot has changed in the past few years though. job market used to be much stable but now it's surprisingly good.
