Moving to Little Ferry with kids -good idea?

Been meaning to ask this. My family moved here when I was a kid. The unemployment rate is 5.2%, which is about average. Average temperature is around 55--F, so the weather is moderate. You can expect to pay around $1,798 for rent here. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Would love some local perspective. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. The weather takes some getting used to. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Bought a house here in 2021 and it's not perfect but it works for me. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 4 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..
