Planning a move to Little Rock — neighborhoods?

Random thought, It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Anyone in a similar situation?

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 12 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Sunset side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 2 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good internet infrastructure
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Limited shopping options
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are affordable, gas is better than expected.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Hope this helps!.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 2 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 12 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Used to live on the Uptown side, now on the Oak Park side. Completely different vibe. I have mixed feelings honestly.

As someone who grew up here, it's exactly what I was looking for. A lot has changed in the past few years though. public transit used to be much pricey but now it's challenging.
