Alright, Poverty rate is 21.6%, which is higher than I expected. Median household income is $43,095, which feels on the lower side for the area. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Am I wrong here? Thanks! There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Cedar Grove for 6 years. Moved from Atlanta for family. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is pretty good. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.
**Employment:**
engineering is strong here. retail is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I love the pace of life here. The outdoor scene is average - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Cedar Grove schools are average. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Not a lot of cultural diversity. Homeless population growing downtown. And weather can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 9/10. Would recommend to anyone considering it.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Bought a house here in 2022 and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Boston about 12 years ago. The main reasons were weather and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Strong job market in several industries
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited high-paying job options
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are developing, gas is average.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Public transit is surprisingly good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's been a really good experience overall.
