Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.

Hot take but it was the best decision I ever made. I know a lot of people disagree but after 2 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is pet-friendliness. I love the pace of life here. Worth doing your research before committing.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 9 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Oak Park side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it exceeded my expectations. Compared to Salt Lake City it's better than expected.
