I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Close to major attractions
- The dating scene scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Chain restaurants dominate
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. No regrets on my end..

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Chicago about 1 years ago. The main reasons were school and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Decent public transit for the size
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are wild, gas is excellent.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
