Anyone else love living in Livermore?

Just moved here 2 months ago and Rent is about $2,640/month for a decent place. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 14 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Nashville about 4 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Decent public transit for the size
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are competitive, gas is excellent.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. No regrets on my end..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to Chicago it's better than expected.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are better than expected, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've lived in Riverside for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Strong job market in several industries
- The housing market scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Active local events and festivals
- The cultural scene scene is decent

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. Happy to answer more specific questions..
