OK so Been living here since 2015. Crime rate is something to consider -Livermore sits at 211.1 per 100K. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Worth the trade-offs? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want safety, then yeah this place is great. But if healthcare matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've lived in Uptown for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Good airport with direct flights
- The school system scene is tough
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Limited high-paying job options
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for families. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a project manager who relocated here from San Francisco about 11 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Strong job market in several industries
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Chain restaurants dominate
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are affordable, gas is solid.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Good luck with whatever you decide..
