Job market in Livermore — what industries are hiring?

I'm in tech and considering a move to Livermore, CA. How's the job market there? The unemployment rate shows 2.3% which seems pretty good. But what does it actually look like on the ground?

Is it easy to network and find opportunities?

For families, I'd recommend looking at University District. Schools are rated well and it's quiet.

I'd add that healthcare options are better than most cities this size. Otherwise spot on!

The job market has been improving lately. Several tech companies moved in recently.

Weather is the biggest factor for us. Four seasons are nice, not too extreme either way.

Rent tip: look for places in winter. Prices drop and there's more availability.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Southside and Downtown are perfectly safe.

As someone who moved here from LA, I can confirm most of this. The cost of living surprised me the most.

Public transit needs work but they're investing in it. Should improve in next few years.

Good summary. I'd rate it higher personally — maybe 9/10.
