Is Livingston a good place to live?

Hello, You can expect to pay around $1,281 for rent here. Homes are going for about $339,800 on average. The median home value here is around $339,800, which seems about average. It's a a small town city with about 14,450 people. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Pros:
- Friendly people
- Easy commute
- Active local events

Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Not very walkable
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Boring for young people
What are your go-to spots? Any help is appreciated. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Eastside for 15 years. Moved from Miami for cost of living. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is excellent. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
retail is strong here. retail is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I love the pace of life here. The outdoor scene is challenging - we have mountains within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Eastside schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Winters are long and cold. Not a lot of cultural diversity. And weather can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 8/10. Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
