Living in Livingston -the reality

Hello, I'm a remote worker and Poverty rate is 14.3%, which is around average. Crime rate is something to consider -Livingston sits at 273.8 per 100K. Median household income is $76,158, which feels about average for the area. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Any help is appreciated. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Sunset. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in education. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally pretty good. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Southern.

No regrets on my end..
