I've lived in Sunset for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Active local events and festivals
- The community vibe scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. No regrets on my end..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is pet-friendliness. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.

Came here for school and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The dating scene is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Westside for 9 years. Moved from Minneapolis for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is challenging. We bought in 2024 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
tech is strong here. marketing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are established for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I genuinely enjoy living here. The outdoor scene is improving - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Westside schools are challenging. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Road conditions need improvement. Far from beaches/mountains. And housing market can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 6/10. Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Eastside. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in tech. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Hope this helps!.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Westside. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in consulting. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Southern.

No regrets on my end..
