Anyone else love living in Lockhart?

Curious what people think. I relocated for work and Average temperature is around 74--F, so it's warm year-round.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Midtown for 6 years. Moved from Dallas for cost of living. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is hit or miss. We bought in 2024 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
marketing is strong here. healthcare is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I love the pace of life here. The outdoor scene is average - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Midtown schools are surprisingly good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Winters are long and cold. Chain restaurants dominate. And cost of living can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 6/10. Would recommend to anyone considering it.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I work in real estate here and it's not perfect but it works for me. The job market for my field is average. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it exceeded my expectations. Compared to Boston it's improving.
