What to expect moving to Lockhart?

I'm retired and Homes are going for about $247,400 on average. The median home value here is around $247,400, which is actually reasonable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Any advice would be great. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it's exactly what I was looking for. Compared to Boston it's surprisingly good.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is public transit. it's not perfect but it works for me. Worth doing your research before committing.
