Alright, I grew up here but left for a while. With a population of 67,008, Lodi is a smaller city. Rent is about $1,565/month for a decent place. You can expect to pay around $1,565 for rent here. The unemployment rate is 5.7%, which is about average. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Any advice would be great. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is excellent. Tons of great Korean places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I genuinely enjoy living here. Internet is pretty good in most areas.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.
I've been here 14 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is challenging.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Feel free to reach out with questions..

Hot take but I have mixed feelings honestly. I know a lot of people disagree but after 10 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I work in government here and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The job market for my field is pretty good. Good luck with whatever you decide..
