Unpopular opinion about Lodi

Been meaning to ask this. My family moved here when I was a kid. Homes are going for about $468,800 on average. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cheers. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely decent and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (South) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Chicago, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
