Hey everyone, I'm retired and Crime rate is something to consider -Lodi sits at 142.9 per 100K. Average temperature is around 55--F, so the weather is moderate. The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Maple Ridge. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in construction. If you're in tech you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

My experience has been mostly positive. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The only thing I'd watch out for is nightlife. Other than that, Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.
I've been here 7 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is hit or miss.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the Old Town side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
