Unpopular opinion about Logan Elm Village

I grew up here but left for a while. It's a a small town city with about 1,238 people. With a population of 1,238, Logan Elm Village is a small town. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Moved here from Denver about 13 years ago. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Still getting used to cultural scene but Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Lakewood. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in tech. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Definitely worth checking out..

Public transit is surprisingly good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I love the pace of life here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Fairview. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in engineering. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Used to live on the Greenfield side, now on the Downtown side. Completely different vibe. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Hot take but it was the best decision I ever made. I know a lot of people disagree but after 7 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Sunset for 4 years. Moved from Austin for work. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is improving. We bought in 2024 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
tech is strong here. education is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it exceeded my expectations. The outdoor scene is decent - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Sunset schools are hit or miss. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Road conditions need improvement. Can feel isolated. And food scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 6/10. Good luck with whatever you decide.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 5 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Affordable housing options
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are developing, gas is solid.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Good luck with whatever you decide..
