So, I'm a 43-year-old firefighter and Median household income is $56,764, which feels about average for the area. You can expect to pay around $1,070 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider -Logan sits at 217.2 per 100K. Homes are going for about $341,000 on average. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Hot take but it's improved dramatically in recent years. I know a lot of people disagree but after 3 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Hot take but it's exactly what I was looking for. I know a lot of people disagree but after 6 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Bought a house here in 2015 and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a contractor who relocated here from Denver about 4 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited public transit options
Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are competitive, gas is improving.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Feel free to reach out with questions..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are excellent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Old Town. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in construction. If you're in real estate you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like BBQ.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Used to live on the Springfield side, now on the Midtown side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.
