Should I move to Logan or stay in Charlotte?

Longtime lurker here, I'm single, late 40s, and Rent is about $1,070/month for a decent place. With a population of 53,923, Logan is a smaller city. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cheers. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

The food scene here is improving. Tons of great Southern places. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Used to live on the Downtown side, now on the Springfield side. Completely different vibe. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value school system, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely solid and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Old Town) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Dallas, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely underrated and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (North) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are challenging, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The community vibe is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've been living here for 4 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The pet-friendliness is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
