What I wish I knew before living in London

Anyone else feel this way? Property taxes are high but you get good services. What do you all think?

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Raleigh about 13 years ago. The main reasons were work and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good healthcare facilities
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Can feel isolated
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are established, gas is challenging.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I'm a chef and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community is hit or miss and there's always something going on.

Bought a house here in 2021 and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Property values have gone about the same since then.
