Longtime lurker here, I'm a remote worker and Average temperature is around 48--F, so expect cold winters. Crime rate is something to consider -Londonderry sits at 75.3 per 100K. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Am I overthinking this? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's not perfect but it works for me. Internet is surprisingly good in most areas.

Bought a house here in 2017 and it was the best decision I ever made. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.
I've been here 9 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is surprisingly good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
