Moving to Long Beach with kids — good idea?

Anyone else feel this way? We have two kids and With a population of 458K, Long Beach is a mid-size city. The unemployment rate is 4.3%, which is about average. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up.

My experience has been mostly positive. the quality of life is solid. The only thing I'd watch out for is dating scene. Other than that, Feel free to reach out with questions..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want pet-friendliness, then yeah this place is great. But if dating scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Bought a house here in 2020 and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Property values have gone up a bit since then.
