Should I move to Long Beach or Boston?

Throwaway thought -

I work remote and chose Long Beach specifically for the lifestyle. The airport connections are pretty good which matters if you travel.

With a population of 458,491, the city has a {city_feel}. Unemployment at 4.3% is {unemp_feel}.

I've never felt unsafe walking around Wrigley at night. Downtown has improved dramatically since I first moved here.

Roast me or validate me, I can take it.

Great question. Here's my honest take after 7 years:

The good:

- Good airport

- Low commute times

- Good farmers markets

The not-so-good:

- Limited diversity in some areas

- Not much to do late at night

I don't understand why more people don't talk about {hood}.. I'd say for families, Long Beach is solid.

I've lived in both Traffic Circle area and Los Altos. Completely different vibes. The school system in {hood} is actually {adj}..

I'll give you a thorough answer since I've been through this exact situation.

I moved to El Dorado Park from San Diego about 11 years ago. Initially I was excited but nervous. But after settling in, I keep discovering new spots even after {yr} years..

A few things I'd recommend:

- Check out El Dorado Park and Cal Heights for housing

- Try the farmers market on Saturday mornings

- Don't judge the whole city by downtown

The biggest adjustment was walkability. Public transit is {transit_feel} - you'll want a car.. Overall I'd give Long Beach a 9/10 for singles.
