Working remotely from Long Beach — my experience

I've been working remotely from Long Beach for 11 years now. Here's my take:

The pace of life here is perfect for remote work. No crazy commute stress, affordable living, and enough amenities to not feel isolated.

Cost of living: a bit high but manageable
Internet: Could be better but workable with a good provider
Coworking spaces: Limited but the library works in a pinch

If you're looking for a place to WFH, Long Beach is underrated for remote workers.

Good summary. I'd rate it higher personally — maybe 9/10.

The food scene here is seriously underrated. So many great restaurants.

Downtown is overrated and overpriced. The suburbs offer way better value.

Totally agree with this. I've been here 4 years and my experience is very similar.

As someone who moved here from Denver, I can confirm most of this. The cost of living surprised me the most.

I'd add that healthcare options are better than most cities this size. Otherwise spot on!
