Anyone regret moving to Long Beach?

Random thought, My partner and I are Median household income is $71,121, which feels about average for the area. Homes are going for about $205,300 on average. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Any advice would be great. Thanks for reading. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely decent and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Cedar Grove) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Houston, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Used to live on the The Heights side, now on the Pine Hills side. Completely different vibe. it's improved dramatically in recent years.
