Anyone else love living in Long Beach?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm retired and You can expect to pay around $2,377 for rent here. Homes are going for about $661,500 on average. It's a a smaller city city with about 34,741 people. Crime rate is something to consider -Long Beach sits at 56.6 per 100K. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. What neighborhoods would you suggest? The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. the quality of life is solid.
