Military spouse here. Household incomes average around $73,381 in Long Branch. With a population of 32,184, Long Branch is a smaller city. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Has anyone dealt with this? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.
I've been here 13 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into running, this place is solid.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I genuinely enjoy living here.
