Couple moving to Long Branch from out of state

First post here. Born and raised here. Homes are going for about $519,000 on average. You can expect to pay around $1,744 for rent here. With a population of 32,184, Long Branch is a smaller city. Poverty rate is 11.7%, which is around average. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 2 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've been here 15 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into running, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
