How are the schools in Long Branch?

Hello, The unemployment rate is 1.7%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $1,233/month for a decent place. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Am I wrong here? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Compared to Austin it's hit or miss.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from Dallas about 5 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good internet infrastructure
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are stable, gas is decent.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Weather-wise, the summers are improving and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.
