Rent vs buy in Long Grove -what makes sense?

You can expect to pay around $3,501 for rent here. With a population of 8,266, Long Grove is a small town. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Am I wrong here? Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Public transit is tough here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are improving, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 8 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've been living here for 1 years and I'd say it's improved dramatically in recent years. The food scene is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..

As someone who grew up here, it's been a really good experience overall. A lot has changed in the past few years though. job market used to be much competitive but now it's average.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want food scene, then yeah this place is great. But if outdoor recreation matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
