Life in Longmont as a young professional

Rent is about $1,755/month for a decent place. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Thoughts? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. dating scene used to be much stable but now it's hit or miss.

I've been in Greenfield for 2 years. Moved from Boston for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is underrated. We bought in 2024 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
real estate is strong here. government is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are reasonable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it was the best decision I ever made. The outdoor scene is hit or miss - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Greenfield schools are average. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Not very walkable outside downtown. Limited high-paying job options. And safety can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
