Moving from Cincinnati to Longmont next month

Hello, I'm a teacher here and The median home value here is around $541,400, which is pretty steep. Average temperature is around 47--F, so expect cold winters. The unemployment rate is 3.0%, which is pretty low. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. What do you all think? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a physical therapist, 51, moved here 8 years ago from Tampa. I've lived in Westside and North, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Good schools in most areas
3. Decent public transit for the size
4. The people are generally decent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Nightlife is limited
2. Property taxes are high
3. The walkability situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Westside: Great for couples. average vibes, walkable.
- North: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Tampa, everything felt underrated. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $70K-$70K here.

**Final verdict:**
Happy to answer more specific questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I'm a software engineer and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. The community is improving and there's always something going on.
