Anyone else noticing rent going up fast in Longmont? Over the last year, I feel like prices went up at least 10-15%. I'm paying $1755 for a studio which feels okay for the area.
Are there any neighborhoods that are still affordable? Thinking about moving to a cheaper area.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. University District and Southside are perfectly safe.

Rent tip: look for places in fall. Prices drop and there's more availability.

As someone who moved here from Houston, I can confirm most of this. The cost of living surprised me the most.

Public transit needs work but they're investing in it. Should improve in next few years.

Respectfully disagree about the safety concerns. In my experience, it really depends on your lifestyle.

Good summary. I'd rate it higher personally — maybe 7/10.

Coming from Boston, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are cheaper.

I've lived in Southside for 1 years and it's still one of the best decisions I made.

Coming from Denver, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are slightly more expensive but housing makes up for it.
