Hey, My partner and I are It's a a smaller city city with about 82,765 people. Rent is about $1,061/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $182,700 on average. With a population of 82,765, Longview is a smaller city. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Is this normal for Longview? TIA! The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in South. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in real estate. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
