Hey folks, Median household income is $62,488, which feels about average for the area. The weather takes some getting used to. What neighborhoods would you suggest?

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 4 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Denver it's pretty good.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Dallas about 5 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Strong job market in several industries
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Homeless population growing downtown
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are pricey, gas is excellent.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Fairview. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Italian.

Definitely worth checking out..

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The school system is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

My experience has been mostly positive. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The only thing I'd watch out for is public transit. Other than that, Would recommend to anyone considering it..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are tough, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is school system. the quality of life is solid. Worth doing your research before committing.
