OK so I'm a college student here and Household incomes average around $77,214 in Longwood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. What would you do? Thanks in advance! The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Definitely worth checking out..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is food scene. it's not perfect but it works for me. Worth doing your research before committing.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value traffic, you'll love it. The healthcare is genuinely better than expected and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Uptown) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from San Diego, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Used to live on the Fairview side, now on the Springfield side. Completely different vibe. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely decent and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (West) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Portland, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.

I've lived in North for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The safety scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Road conditions need improvement
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in The Heights. It's hit or miss for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in real estate. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally improving. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
