Longwood vs Miami -which is better?

I'm a 25-year-old software engineer and The median home value here is around $327,400, which seems about average. It's a a small town city with about 15,952 people. Poverty rate is 7.1%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $327,400 on average. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. Thoughts? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a data analyst, 58, moved here 13 years ago from San Diego. I've lived in Highland and Eastside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Good schools in most areas
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally hit or miss - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Summers can be brutally hot
2. Road conditions need improvement
3. The food scene situation is wild and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Highland: Great for retirees. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- Eastside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from San Diego, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is pricey. You can live comfortably on $50K-$90K here.

**Final verdict:**
It's not for everyone but it works for us.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Bought a house here in 2023 and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Hot take but the quality of life is solid. I know a lot of people disagree but after 7 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Decent public transit for the size
- The walkability scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Strong job market in several industries
- The weather scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for remote workers. Definitely worth checking out..

Public transit is challenging here. You'll probably need a car for most things. the quality of life is solid.
