Longtime lurker here, I grew up here but left for a while. With a population of 2,846, Loogootee is a small town. Crime rate is something to consider -Loogootee sits at 257.6 per 100K. Homes are going for about $133,900 on average. The unemployment rate is 3.7%, which is pretty low. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up. Has anyone dealt with this? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.
