Best hidden gems in Lordsburg

I'm single, late 30s, and Average temperature is around 61--F, so the weather is moderate. The unemployment rate is 2.1%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Lordsburg sits at 503.1 per 100K. The median home value here is around $86,100, which is actually reasonable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Does this match your experience? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. traffic used to be much established but now it's tough.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 14 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a social worker, 28, moved here 3 years ago from New York. I've lived in West and East, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Low crime in most neighborhoods
3. Strong job market in several industries
4. The people are generally pretty good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Rising rent and home prices
2. Urban sprawl is real
3. The job market situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- West: Great for couples. better than expected vibes, walkable.
- East: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from New York, everything felt pretty good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $80K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Oak Park for 14 years. Moved from Nashville for cost of living. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is better than expected. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
engineering is strong here. healthcare is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are competitive for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I love the pace of life here. The outdoor scene is challenging - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Oak Park schools are excellent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Property taxes are high. Bugs and humidity in summer. And school system can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 9/10. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in East. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Came here for retirement and stayed because I love the pace of life here. The walkability is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely hit or miss and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Eastside) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Miami, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
