Best restaurants in Los Altos?

I grew up here but left for a while. Poverty rate is 2.4%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 60--F, so the weather is moderate. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. What do you all think? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Public transit is decent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want pet-friendliness, then yeah this place is great. But if cost of living matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've lived in Greenfield for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The public transit scene is solid

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. No regrets on my end..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in North for 13 years. Moved from Houston for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is underrated. We bought in 2024 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.

**Employment:**
consulting is strong here. manufacturing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it exceeded my expectations. The outdoor scene is hit or miss - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. North schools are pretty good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited public transit options. Chain restaurants dominate. And job market can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 7/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've lived in The Heights for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The traffic scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Bought a house here in 2022 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone down slightly since then.
