Los Altos quality of life -am I missing something?

Hey, I relocated for work and Homes are going for about $2,000,001 on average. The median home value here is around $2,000,001, which is pretty steep. It's a a smaller city city with about 30,736 people. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Pros:
- Good schools
- Diverse community
- Lots of new development

Cons:
- High property taxes
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Limited cultural events
Worth the trade-offs? The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I've been living here for 15 years and I'd say it's been a really good experience overall. The school system is excellent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 5 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
