Most overrated things about Los Altos

First post here. I'm originally from Pittsburgh and Poverty rate is 2.4%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 60--F, so the weather is moderate. Rent is about $3,501/month for a decent place. Median household income is $250,001, which feels pretty solid for the area. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. The city has invested a lot in new development.

As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. job market used to be much pricey but now it's solid.

The food scene here is hit or miss. Tons of great Asian places. I have mixed feelings honestly.

I've lived in Lakewood for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The nightlife scene is solid

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Urban sprawl is real

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for families. Happy to answer more specific questions..
